Be Ready - Tualatin Emergency Preparedness Fair

The 2023 Tualatin Emergency Preparedness Fair (TEPF) will be held August 5, 2023 at Tualatin Community Park

The fair is family-friendly, admission-free, and runs from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

 

Fair visitors will enjoy the many exhibitor booths, food carts, speaker programs, free giveaways and activities that will teach children and adults more about emergency preparedness.

 

The event is sponsored by Tualatin Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), a community of volunteers focused on preparing the citizens, families, neighborhoods, and employees in the Tualatin area for emergency and disaster situations. We work to increase preparedness through community events to present, demonstrate and display information, educate attendees, and offer learning materials and aids.

The fair is family-friendly, admission-free, and runs from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

 

Fair visitors will enjoy the many exhibitor booths, informational programs, free giveaways and activities that will teach children and adults more about emergency preparedness.

 

The event is sponsored by Tualatin Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), a community of volunteers focused on preparing the citizens, families, neighborhoods, and employees in the Tualatin area for emergency and disaster situations. Family-Friendly, Admission-Free

The first 200 attendees will receive a CERT “Be Ready” Go Bag from our Welcome Booth to fill up with goodies and take home! Kids will also get a Passport Adventure map of the fair. As they visit the booths, they will gather free Go Bag items and stickers and will win a grand prize at the end (quantities limited).

 

We will have a Tualatin Food Pantry donation bucket at the Welcome Booth as well. Bring a non-perishable item to donate and get a prize!

 

Fair visitors will enjoy more than 35 vendor and exhibitor booths that will help educate about preparedness, have informational handouts, safety items for sale and many will have free giveaways. Come out for an entertaining day and visit your favorite exhibitors including: Mud Bay Pets, Costco, GoStayKits, NW Outward Bound, OSU Extension, Tualatin Girl Scouts, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Books On Wheels and Quake Up.

 

Support some local small businesses like: Mountain Wave Search & Rescue, Next Adventure, SAM Medical, Prepared NW, Side Quest Escape, and Solunaken Wellness.

 

The City of Tualatin, Washington & Clackamas Counties,Tualatin CIOs, Tualatin and Cedar Hills Neighborhood Ready and the local utilities will all have information booths as well. And there are many, many more…….

Take a break and cool off with some shaved ice from the Kona Ice truck while you check out a variety of Tualatin City and Utility vehicles that may include: TVF&R fire trucks, police cars and motorcycles, dump trucks and a bulldozer. Stop by and see the CERT Ham & GMRS Radio Team with their solar-powered station and learn about what they do to ensure that the Tualatin Amateur Radio Network will keep lines of communication open in the face of any disaster. Take a turn in the Shaky Grounds Cafe Escape Room that offers an escape game that has you solve puzzles about preparedness so you can develop real-life skills while having fun!

The Juanita Pohl Center will have expert speaker programs running throughout the fair. Starting off at 11:30 is “Get Quake-Proof! Seismic Assessments & Improvements for Your Home” with BJ Cure of Cascadia Risk Solutions. At 12:30, the American Red Cross presents: “Be Red Cross Ready”, an emergency preparedness workshop for teens and adults. And lastly, at 1:30, the American Red Cross will share the “Red Cross Pillowcase Project”, a workshop for children in grades 3-5. Kids will learn about how to create their own special “Go Bag” and will be given a Red Cross Pillowcase to take home. Seating is limited for these presentations.
